Description
Since 1936 our family has been living at Podere La Casellina in respect with its traditions and the rhythm of nature. We are in Tuscany, only 18km south of Florence, in between Chianti and Valdarno. We grow olive trees, vines, fruits and vegetables, and produce our own oil and wine, according to old farming methods. We offer hospitality in the hayloft and stables of the 300 year old farmhouse where we live and prepare meals. Fresh eggs, home made jams and cakes, and typical Tuscan food based on products coming from our fields. You can walk through the farm or the wonderful woodland paths, picking chestnuts and precious wild mushrooms, or picnic in the vineyard or olive grove.

Area hills
Podere La Casellina is a working farm in the beautiful countryside between Chianti and the Arno Valley, an area of chestnut and oak forests, interspersed with ancient olive groves, orchards and gnarled vineyards. This is a small, organic farm, producing fine green olive oil, fresh fruit, seasonal vegetables and wine, and offering a comfortable stay, free of stress and commotion, and not too far off the beaten track.
Here you can picnic beneath the olive trees, gather chestnuts and wild mushrooms in the woods or simply sit back and enjoy the view of Monti del Chianti and Pratomagno

Our second stay at Podere La Casellina, and not our last. This is an authentic Italian Agritourismo, not a luxury stay. A true Italian farm stay with the most wonderful family. Michelangelo will proudly share his garden and olives, and Sylvia will cook the most special breakfast cakes. When you are here they will make you feel like part of the family. Many interesting villages nearby to visit, and Florence is close by. A very special experience.

Michelangelo and Silvia were warm and generous hosts. We loved staying with the family, it was an excellent farm stay. Their adherence to old traditional customs and connection with the land are similar to ours. Thank you for an excellent farm stay and wish you well for the future. John and Julie.
