La Fornace di Racciano is a lovely Bed&Breakfast at a short distance (2, 8 Km) from the historical centre of medieval San Gimignano.
It consists of a typical Tuscan country house surrounded by a large flowery garden. In the past "La Fornace di Racciano" was a furnace that produced lovely terracotta pottery using local dug clay. Today, the building has been carefully renovated to maintain the typical features of the past besides the modern comforts of nowadays. La Fornace di Racciano consists in 7 comfortable rooms and two apartments.
Cristiano, the owner of B&B "La Fornace di Racciano", is a full-blooded Tuscan. His first aim is to cherish his guests and transmit them the authentic Tuscan traditions along with a presentation of the excellences of this region: history, landscape, art and crafts, cooking, wine.

Every morning, from 8. 30 to 10. 30, the intense aroma of real Italian Espresso pervades the renovated barn where breakfast is served. Here guests can choose among croissants, home-made cakes, fresh bread, jam, local honey, Nutella, different types of cereals, yoghurt, fruit juice, fresh fruit in season, peaches in syrup, ham, salami, cheese, local extra-virgin olive oil, American coffee, cappuccino, chocolate, milk, and tea.

La Fornace di Racciano is a bed and breakfast in the heart of Tuscany run by the Boldrini Family. Purchased by Cristiano in 1990 and later renovated to become a hospitality establishment with the help of his family, it was inaugurated on August 1st, 1992. Over the years, Cristiano's wife Merzia and their children Noemi and Massimiliano have joined in taking care of the B&B, continuing the family tradition of hospitality with dedication and commitment. The breakfast products served are all local, and the cakes are freshly made every day by Merzia, a true master of Tuscan pastries and specialties! As for the reception, Noemi will be delighted to provide you with information about our territory, recommend the ideal restaurant for your dinner, a pleasant Vernaccia tasting, or help you organize a nice day trip. With the whole family, we strive to make our guests experience our traditions to the fullest, making them feel at home.

B&B "La Fornace di Racciano" is just 2, 8Km from the historical centre of San Gimignano, a town of ancient Etruscan origins that knew its higher splendour in Medieval times. The town is set along the historical Via Francigena, an ancient road followed by multitudes of merchants and pilgrims; today is still possible to walk on the original ballast for some stretches.
The medieval town, with its unique towers, is a real treasure and it is listed in the UNESCO's World Cultural Heritage.
The town features many important historical and artistic monuments such as the Romanic Duomo, the Convent of Saint Agostino, the Town Hall Palace, and historical and modern museums.
For those who are fond of Tuscan products such as wine and extra-virgin olive oil, there is a large choice; the region is rich of wine cellars which offer wine tasting and tours, and in San Gimignano there is an interesting Museum of Wine where you can taste the best wines of the region, whilst enjoying the breathtaking landscape of the Tuscan countryside.

In the peaceful countryside just outside San Gimignano, a quiet and welcoming accommodation. The managers are helpful and very attentive. Large and clean room. Outdoor space and pool well-kept and well-organized. Abundant breakfast with local offerings. Excellent value for money.

We stayed a few days ago at the La Fornace di Racciano property. We were greeted by the hosts with a coffee and fresh water, given the extremely hot day. We immediately noticed the beauty of the property and the magnificent view of San Gimignano. The hosts are very friendly and had no problem welcoming our dog, a large Alaskan Malamute. The homemade cakes and typical products offered for breakfast are of excellent quality and truly tasty. The location is excellent for us, just a few kilometers from San Gimignano and immersed in the hills. In the evening, you can admire the landscape of the illuminated towers and a magnificent starry sky. I thank and warmly greet the hosts and all the staff.

We had already visited 4 years ago and we absolutely wanted to come back because we had really enjoyed it. Again this year everything was perfect: the welcoming of the staff and their kindness, the beauty of the house and the landscape, the quality of the breakfast, the pleasure of the pool and its sunbeds, etc. A big thank you to Cristiano and Viviana for everything. We hope to come back a 3rd time to visit the Chianti wineries that we have not yet seen. In San Gimignano, a magical city, we recommend the restaurant Fuori Porta where the food is particularly good. We stayed at this very romantic and suggestive B&B. From our room, we could enjoy a postcard view of San Gimignano. The management was excellent and the collaboration of the staff was always available for any information. I recommend everyone to stay there.
