Description

The Bed and Breakfast Gottardo's strength lies in its strategic location. It is very close to the University Citadel, the Polyclinic, and the center of Cagliari, which can be reached in just a few minutes by car or metro thanks to the Gottardo station located just a few steps from the B&B. In just 10 minutes by car, you can reach the airport, and in 15 minutes, the port of Cagliari. Additionally, due to its proximity to the SS 554 junction, it is an excellent starting point for excursions to the Southern beaches of Sardinia. The B&B is equipped with all essential amenities. It consists of three spacious and bright bedrooms and a common living room where you can enjoy the breakfast service. The B&B is also equipped with air conditioning, TV, and WIFI.

At the B&B Gottardo, breakfast is self-service. Fresh local fruit is provided daily, along with yogurt, fruit juice, pre-packaged croissants and plum cakes, typical packaged cookies, jams and butter, bread and rolls, cornflakes and muesli, cocoa powder, and barley powder. The spacious breakfast room offers guests a kettle for preparing tea and herbal teas, a milk heater, a coffee machine, as well as a toaster and a microwave oven.

Nearby, you can find everything you need: a fruit and vegetable market, a supermarket, a bar, a tobacconist, a pharmacy, shops, and a gas station. A few kilometers away, Poetto beach and the promenade offer many attractions such as pleasant walks on the Sella del Diavolo hill overlooking the sea and along the old salt pans. The Diverland water park is just a few tens of minutes away. The Seven Brothers mountains and the beautiful Monte Arcosu park await hikers with their unique flora and fauna. Shopping lovers will be satisfied by the Auchan and Le Vele shopping centers.

I stayed at this property for 3 nights. Francesco the manager was very helpful and flexible both for the check-in and check-out times, meeting our needs. He also provided us with a list of shops nearby and places to go for dinner. For any of our requests, he kindly provided a solution, whether it was for a small expense or to taste something typical. Perfect and impeccable cleanliness. Varied and abundant breakfast, including local typical products (personally, I really appreciated this 'detail' if it can be defined as such). The B&B is in a quiet and very strategic area for those like us who wanted to visit the most beautiful beaches in the surroundings and then take a tour in the beautiful city of Cagliari. Excellent value for money.

Unfortunately, we had a bad experience. It's impossible to sleep at night due to the heavy traffic from the street below, sirens of buses and cars continuously, and with the old windows (I think from the 80s) that close with difficulty, you have to resign yourself to not sleeping. It's really hot, you're practically forced to keep the air conditioner on. The bathroom wasn't clean. Mosquitoes attacking you as soon as you go up the stairs, the coffee machine full of used pods. Annoying courtesy lights on here and there. The front door also needs to be replaced along with the windows. What can I say, we paid 55 euros, okay, but we won't be back.
