Description

The recently built La Gerbera is ideally situated to enjoy a nice seaside resort with a wide beach, but it can be also a starting point for excursions to “5 Terre”. La Gerbera is situated in a peaceful area, a few steps from the heart of the town, 300 m far from the train station and 700 m far from the beach. La Gerbera has five polished double rooms, provided with wood furniture and independent entrance.

At the ground floor guests can find a beautiful garden with sun beds and an external shower where to spend pleasant sun days and relaxing summer evenings.

The quite atmosphere together with the willingness and spontaneity of the owners will assure you a very comfortable stay.

Being sensitive to the protection of the environment the owners chose to install photovoltaic panels.

Great accommodation, clean and well-kept, close to the train station and the town center, easy to move around on foot. The owner Dori is super kind and helpful, ready to provide all the explanations on how to move around to visit the Cinque Terre. Highly recommended accommodation.

It was our first experience in a Bed and Breakfast, I must say that we were lucky to find Dori, the owner. A lovely person who informed us about everything we might need and very caring. Regarding the room, very clean and fresh. We had no problem with the car, parked in front with a pass provided by Dori. We will come back to see you.

This place is a great find. 3 minutes from Levanto train station, very easy reach of all of Cinque Terre. Levanto itself, in my opinion, is a better home base to explore the region than the 5 Terre. It is calmer and less touristy during the day, yet livelier at night. Plenty of restaurants, a couple of supermarkets, etc. \n\nAs for the B&B itself, it was in a great location, the room was very nice, and the host, Dori, was incredibly kind, responsive, helpful, and flexible with check in/out, local recommendations, etc. If I go back to the region, I would happily stay here again. The B&B also had a nice garden to relax in and great wifi. \n\nOverall, it was a perfect spot to stay to explore Cinque Terre. Everything is in reach by train within literally a few minutes, or if you want, there are many great hikes that leave from very nearby. A beautiful region of Italy, and a great home base to explore from. 10/10 recommend.

Cleanliness is on a high level, very bright, modern. Dori, the host of the place, very helpful, provides all information about transports and all other things. Good location as we travel every day to some hiking trails, ideal to visit the Cinque Terre tracks. On the first floor, there is a small terrace garden for relaxing after a hard hiking day, highly recommended. Inese & Maris.

Wonderful welcome from Doriana, very kind, helpful tips, very flexible for the arrival time, all in excellent French. Thank you! Very clean room redone every day, new and functional toilets, nice exterior if the weather is nice. Breakfast in the room with water, juices, biscuits, savory snacks, packaged pastries, coffee, tea or cappuccino... Ideal for leaving early for hiking! 5 minutes from the station and a small supermarket, a little more from the city center, very convenient for hiking in the Cinque Terre or dining in town. (Slight downside, very convenient location but consequently you can hear the road and the train if you are sensitive to noise). Thank you Doriana!

An incredibly kind and attentive management. Always ready to fulfill every wish. The cleanliness was more than perfect and the love with which the accommodation is equipped makes it very homely. The train is more or less at eye level, separated only by a small valley and reachable via a pedestrian bridge. 5 minutes on foot. Shopping opportunities very close. The sea also reachable in less than 10 minutes. Boat trips to the other places of the Cinque Terre are at the end of the beach. 15-20 minutes. An incredibly beautiful holiday.

Highly recommended B&B. The location is great: it's 5 minutes from the train station (so perfect for visiting the Cinque Terre) and just under 10 minutes from the center/beach of Levanto. The room is very spacious and really clean; also very convenient the clothesline outside to dry swimsuits/beach towels. As for parking, a pass is given to park for free outside, we found a spot right in front of the property. Dori was really very kind and helpful, also providing us with information and tips on places to visit. The best B&B I've stayed at!

We stayed as a couple for three nights. Clean and cozy room, bathroom not too big but new and functional. Relaxing garden available for guests. Packaged breakfast but still well taken care of. Great location, close to both the city center and the train station (very convenient for visiting the Cinque Terre). Doriana, the owner, is very kind and friendly to the guests.

La Gerbera is located very close to the train station, which served our needs perfectly. Doriana welcomed us very graciously. She came to pick us up from the train station and helped with our luggage. For our return trip to the station, Doriana was once again kind enough to drive us back to the train station. This B&B is very clean and quiet. I highly recommend La Gerbera if you want to visit the Cinque Terre.

There are three things I ask of a B&B at the very least. 1. Sleep quality: the bed was extremely comfortable, spacious, and even though the room did not face the street, as it is a house and facing the mountains there was perfect silence to rest. 2. Cleanliness: the room and bathroom are clean and cleaned and towels, glasses, etc. are changed every day. 3. Wifi signal quality: I had no connection problems, everything perfect. The B&B does not have parking but it is not necessary as there is free parking on the same street. Even though the owner informed us that she did not have a license to cook and could not prepare hot food for breakfast, she went out of her way to bring us everything and make sure nothing was missing (toast, butter, pastries, jam, milk, coffee or tea, juices, water, etc.).

Our stay at La Gerbera in Levanto was one of the highlights of our honeymoon in Italy. The room was exceptionally clean and comfortable and the host, Doriana, was beyond accommodating. She gave us tips on places to visit and where to eat, which was helpful being that it was our first time there. It was also very close to the train station. We will definitely go back to Levanto, and we would be happy to stay at La Gerbera again!

A warm welcome from Doriana who is a attentive hostess and gave us all the useful tips for our stay. A large room with extremely clean modern bathroom. Bed and towel change every day. A stay on the Cinque Terre that fully satisfied us due to the proximity of the train station for accessibility to the villages. From Levanto itself, you can go hiking to Monterosso. Another big thank you to Doriana for her extreme kindness and her perfect French which allowed us to exchange.

Positive: Very friendly hostess. Neat rooms. Negative: Very noisy due to the location on a busy street and proximity to the train station, sleeping was hardly possible. No real breakfast, only some juice, yogurts, butter, and jam. Fresh food like fruit or bread must be bought independently.

Doriana is an owner of great kindness and helpfulness. Her welcome is smiling and welcoming. She did everything to ensure I had a quality breakfast despite my food intolerances. The room is kept in a great state of cleanliness as well as the bathroom, spacious and comfortable. The towels are replaced frequently. La Gerbera is ideally located near the train station (5 minutes on foot) and the city center (10 minutes on foot). We found free parking for our car without any problems in front of La Gerbera. Doriana is very available to provide all information about her city, the Cinque Terre, transportation methods, tips, etc. Address that I highly recommend.

The structure is very convenient with the station, a bit less so for the sea. I found it quiet. The cleanliness is excellent and the owner is very kind. Breakfast is packaged like in almost all guesthouses with a kettle, tea and instant coffee, rusks, jams, cookies, yogurt drinks.

Before visiting the 'Cinque Terre', I recommend staying in Levanto, with about 6000 inhabitants, rather than in La Spezia, with over 90000 inhabitants, and specifically at La Gerbera B&B, located 5 minutes walk from the train station where there is a train every 30 minutes towards La Spezia and 5 minutes from the city center, convenient for restaurants in the evening. 2 days and 3 nights are necessary to fully appreciate the 'Cinque Terre'. La Gerbera is a recent establishment from 2008, very well equipped with Wifi. Comfortable with a king size bed and a superb bathroom. Parking for the car is free with a card provided by La Gerbera, a significant advantage when parking costs are very high. Special mention for the hostess Doriana, very warm, speaking excellent French, very attentive to the smooth running of your stay. No bad surprises, just happiness.

The room with bathroom was small and functional, very clean and tidy. The location was optimal, slightly outside the town, but still only a few minutes walk to the center, the beach and the train station. Breakfast could be prepared in the room itself. There was a kettle, instant coffee, water, juice, yogurt, butter, jam, rusks and cookies. Since there was a refrigerator, we could store our purchased food (cold cuts and cheese) well. In the morning we provided ourselves with bread rolls. In the small garden there were sun loungers and a seating area. Doriana, the owner, was extremely friendly and helpful, giving us numerous tips and information. Parking on the street was easily possible, a parking permit was provided. Levanto is an ideal starting point for exploring the Cinque Terre and its surroundings. The place is not as touristy as the Cinque Terre villages. There are very good train connections, but you can also reach the villages and Portovenere by boat.

We had an excellent week at this very well located (close to the city center, the beach, and especially the train station) and functional guesthouse. Every day, after a long day of walking, we found a clean and tidy room and bathroom, as well as a well-stocked breakfast and fridge [tea and coffee bags, biscuits, toast, butter, jams, yogurts, still and sparkling water bottles, cheeses, and even small chocolate eggs for Easter]. Doriana is attentive to every request and always available: thank you again to her. We can only recommend this guesthouse!

Very convenient, we parked the car for 4 days and traveled by train, boat, and on foot. The welcome from Doriana (the owner) is very warm, very kind and speaks French very well. Doriana was very attentive to all of our needs. Her place is spotless and very attractive. It is a short walk to the center of town and parking is readily available across the street. It is located in a residential area, so you get a real feel of the people. I would highly recommend this B&B and would stay there again!

Deserving place, very clean, quiet, located in a good area that allows you to reach without too much difficulty: station, center, sea. Let's say that for young people who want to take a few steps, it is great. Mrs. Doriana is very kind and helpful for everything you need and provides the right indications both on places to visit and regarding restaurants. If anyone has any doubts, they can rest assured because they will definitely be fine. The only thing that could improve the structure is if there was a room for breakfast. Let's say it is very nice to have breakfast in the room, but if there was a breakfast room and the breakfast a little richer, it would be perfect. Anyway, compliments to Doriana and thank you again for everything.
