Area Trastevere
It is famous as the Roman neighbourhood of the city, thanks to the winding streets covered with cobblestones overlooked by medieval housing. Forte is the contrast between the rich and mighty lords of the ancient houses and huts of the poorest people.
The urban fabric, full of typical local and overseas markets, wraps with a vast network of streets around the main square of Santa Maria in Trastevere. The church, founded around 220 d.C. was rebuilt with the addition of the tower in 1138 AD by Pope Innocent II and ended, for want of Pope Clement XI, with the portico in front of the facade designed by Carlo Fontana in 1702 AD On the front are applied some mosaics dating back to XII; the interior, however, with bare columns and capitals probably originating in an ancient Egyptian temple, is decorated with frescoes as well as mosaics.
In the alleys of Trastevere is still perceives the atmosphere of quiet life of the past, thanks to the preservation of historical context and shops, while maintaining its characteristic rhythm and lifestyle. Thanks to its many local distributed in the most hidden, becomes one of the most alive, and self characteristic of the city. It offers typical Roman restaurants and pizzerias, pubs and coffee, but also shops of every type and elegant shops.
On sunday will also visit the market of Portaportese. The entire neighborhood, once home dell'Arsenale Pontifical becomes the bustling headquarters of one of the most famous markets in the world, where antiques and modern mix seamless continuity to paccottiglia and rarity for collectors of objects , All nell'inconfondibile joy vociante people of Rome.

The Calisto6 B&B is located in Piazza San Calisto, n.6 very close to Santa Maria in Trastevere square.

Excellent bed and breakfast in Trastevere, very close to Basilica di S. Maria. We stayed in a two-level apartment. Our triple room was not very large but had a spacious walk-in closet and a quite large bathroom, all furnished tastefully with 'Maison du Monde' style. On the upper level, there was a kitchen equipped with a coffee machine, cappuccino maker, and kettle with small tables and a fireplace overlooking the living room on the first level. Breakfast is included and left in the fridge (packaged croissants, yogurt, juice, and milk). The owner Andrea is a very kind and helpful person, he provided us with excellent directions for public transport and dining places, and we were also able to leave our luggage past the check-out time. We had a great stay and recommend it with pleasure.

We stayed in the quadruple room and we had a good time. The room is clean and tidy. Located right in Trastevere. Great location for public transport and also for walking to the center of Rome. It takes about 40 minutes on foot to reach the Vatican City, and about 30 minutes to get to the Colosseum area. We arrived by car and considering the "lively" area, we preferred to park our car at the nearby garage for 25 euros per day. Alternatively, there is paid parking in the blue zone on the street for 4 euros per day. Breakfast is served in the bar below or there is another bar nearby that, in our opinion, serves better croissants. The area is full of places to eat or just have a drink, there is plenty of choice. The bar under the structure is very popular even in the evenings, but the windows close very well and we could sleep peacefully. The room is very simple, the bathroom is quite small and narrow being under the stairs, so you need to be a bit careful not to stumble or hit your head. With a bit of adaptability, we had a good time and highly recommend it.

I often stay in Rome for various events and this property, compared to others of the same type where I have been, now becomes my favorite. Exceptional location in the heart of Trastevere served by small restaurants full of people until late at night, just as I like it. Easy and direct booking with Andrea, precise, punctual and kind welcome. The room is delightful and equipped with everything. The only drawback, but the only one, is the bathroom a bit far from the room. Overcome, considering the quality-price ratio. See you soon.

Very good location, you can reach any point of interest on foot. The 4-bed room is very well furnished and spacious, while the bathroom (external) is really small and without a bidet. The owner is very polite and helpful. The noise from the customers of the bars below (on weekends) is very annoying, but closing the window solves it quite well. I would definitely go back.
