The stay was mixed. The address is Via Torquato Tasso, not Via Tasso. The building is located in the traffic-calmed old town. In itself only accessible by foot. However, this is not clear from the description. Once there, it is very convenient. The train station for trains to Paestum or Pompeii is also within a 10-minute walk. We had a very small dark room facing the street. Everything was full of the landlady's personal belongings, there was no space for our clothes. There was no breakfast in the house, we had to go to a café where there was only the basics, coffee and a sweet treat. Even juice would have cost extra. The landlady was very friendly and her friends were also very open and helpful.

We, Karin and Bernhard, from Germany, had a wonderful holiday at Villa Avenia! We really liked it there, the family is very kind, attentive, and humorous. The whole ambiance - apartment, garden, terrace, and rooms - is truly unique. We loved the location in Salerno! The wonderful Giardino Minerva is practically next door. Just like the lovely, particularly special Italian old town. There were many nice shops to discover. In addition to the impressive Cathedral, you can visit other interesting ancient churches. A boat trip to various places (Amalfi, Minori, Cetara, etc. or Capri) is easily doable. If you don't want to walk along the lungomare to the port in the evening, there are convenient buses that take you there. When going out for dinner in the evening, it's advisable to bear in mind that the lift next door only runs until 9 pm and it's best to reserve a table at the restaurant! We will definitely come back!

Villa Avenia is well located just steps away from the elevator in the historic district. The villa is very beautiful and the common areas feature a lovely architecture. The reserved room had a beautiful terrace with a magnificent view. The only difficulty encountered was parking in the city of Salerno.

The elegance. Of environments, furnishings, souls. Its being a small heart of light, warmth, and color within the pulsating heart of the noisy, explosive, moving, emotional, colorful Salerno. The beauty. In every single detail and as a whole, in discretion, promptness, availability, and Elena's smile. And, with her, of everyone. The love that is breathed for one's own city, for its millennia-old history of art and culture, and the joy of welcoming every guest in its name. Like family. Love and joy that turn into care for detail, attention, harmony, cheerfulness. Sharing. The heart that you feel beating everywhere. A light that shines among the extraordinary author's illuminations that color every corner of the city. Villa Avenia: a jewel in our BelPaese.

Villa Avenia is a small paradise, beautifully located in the old town, overlooking the rooftops to the blue-green sea. It is extremely charming and stylishly furnished. Elena is a lovely hostess and many of the sweet treats offered at breakfast are homemade. A dream and highly recommended anytime!

The bed-and-breakfast Villa Avenia in Salerno is a nice, first-rate address located in an antique palazzo in the oldest part of the city in a narrow street in the pedestrian zone. The rooms are nice, clean, large and comfortable with a magnificent view to the gulf of Salerno and the historic city. The bathroom is integrated into the room in a functional and nice manner. Everything is very comfortable and clean. The host speaks English, is very helpful and immediately addresses all questions. We were very cordially received during our stay and our host always had suggestions for sightseeing and activities. The breakfast is superb, served in a nice salon equipped with old furnitures. It includes all kinds of different local and Italian food including mozzarella, cheese, fresh fruits, cakes and a lot more deli food. We enjoyed our stay in Villa Avenia very much and will certainly come back.

The bed and breakfast was very nice, clean, and comfortable. Our room had a magnificent view of the old part of the city and the sea. The host, Elana, was very helpful, accommodating, and speaks some English. The location was in the old part of the city on a narrow cobblestone street about 10 feet wide. An adventuresome person will love the authentic Italian feel of the neighborhood. But some travelers may find it a little too gritty for their taste.

Absolutely exceptional! The place is wonderful: a 17th-century palace with 4 or 5 meters of ceiling height. The setting is second to none, it feels like being in a Shakespearean play. The owner is fascinating. In short, go for it!

Our first evening in Italy was spent in this charming B&B after a long travel day. It was restful, quiet, and had all the amenities. We opened the door on our balcony and were stunned by the view of the Mediterranean framed by the fragrant jasmine on the railing. Elena made delicious cake for us for breakfast, along with fresh squeezed blood orange juice. Pots of coffee and hot water - the best breakfast we had the whole time we were in Italy. I loved this part of Italy, where you could get escarole on your pizza, and unique seafood. Be warned that dinner starts after 9pm! With jet lag we never were able to stay up for "dinner" so we had big lunches and pizza in the evening. This is a great jumping off point for a boat ride to Amalfi, and a train ride to Pastum, which we did in one day. If you have more time there is lots more to explore (and limoncello to drink). Thank you beautiful Elena! I loved the heritage of your building and your care of it.

I had a beautiful room with a balcony and a view of the sea and the harbour. Villa Avenia also has a lovely garden where you can relax and enjoy the sun. Every morning Elena helped me to find out what to see and how to get there and she also provided me with adresses of restaurants, gelaterie and places of interest in Salerno. Thank you, Elena! I enjoyed my stay a Villa Avenia very much and hope to be able to come back some day.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Villa Avenia. The Villa itself is beautiful, charming, well maintained and has breathtaking views of Salerno. We loved our room and the bathroom was great - no problems at all. The beds were okay - not very comfortable, but comfortable enough. The breakfast was simple and included some homemade treats along with fruits, packaged yoghurts, and fresh coffee. We wandered through the old part of town near the villa both days and stumbled upon some lovely restaurants. Our favorite place was Salerhum - a small Rum/Cocktail bar a short walk off a main thoroughfare in the old town. Where we spent the most enjoyable night of our two week vacation around Europe. The hotel staff - specifically a very friendly girl, was very helpful with advice on how to travel to the neighboring Amalfi and Positano and also researched train times for us for our next destination. The hotel is somewhat conveniently located just at the top of the public elevator/lift which made it easy to get straight into the main old town Salerno. Beware of the closing/opening hours! When it's closed it's easy enough to walk - but maybe not ideal with luggage to drag uphill. The roads are too narrow for cars. We loved it - a highlight of our trip.
