Description
The Bed and Breakfast is located in a wonderful setting in the famous Taranto Palace, built in the late Baroque style in the 18th century by the noble family of philanthropist Emanuele Taranto. Emanuele Taranto Rosso, born in 1801 in Caltagirone, was a writer, scientist, and religious figure who donated all of his manuscripts to the Library, where his portrait can be admired. The structure is situated at the foot of the Maria SS. del Monte staircase, behind the Church of San Giuseppe, with a view of the Spadaro Garden.

Inside, there are two "Luxury Rooms": "Imperia" and "Golden Room," equipped with all the amenities for an unforgettable, romantic stay, ideal for those seeking a vacation that combines beauty, history, and local culture.

The structure also boasts three prestigious lounges, characterized by frescoes and original flooring from their respective periods, ranging from the 18th to the 19th century. We have created this Bed and Breakfast to enhance and make accessible a piece of Caltagirone's historical heritage, which has long been neglected.

Since the 19th century, it has been the center of intellectual and political activities for illustrious figures, including Luigi Sturzo, his nephew.

We are two sisters who have decided to challenge themselves through their own skills and offer culture in an active and creative way. Like two celestial stars, different but both radiant with energy and light, we have chosen to create two independent rooms within a palace, each with their own distinctive colors: blue and gold. From here, our Golden and Imperia rooms come to life. The older sister is an artist, painting and drawing since she was a child, while the second sister has a great passion for theater. We wanted to combine the beauty of these arts, presenting Roberta's paintings in each room, along with fascinating texts, legends, and stories that represent our rich personal cultural heritage.

Area city center
The area becomes even more fascinating once you've climbed the first two steps of the famous Matrice Staircase, finding yourself in a magical corner. This place is enriched by the greenery of the Spadaro Garden and its numerous "carruggi", characteristic alleys from the Arab era. If you walk along them, you can reach the top of the Matrice Staircase and the adjacent neighborhoods, where, as you climb higher and higher, you'll discover the imposing building of Sant'Agostino, recently reopened to the public and hosting the whistle exhibition. Furthermore, you can take other alleyways that will lead you to the Church of the Patron Saint of Caltagirone, the Church of San Giacomo.

For art lovers, we recommend exploring the famous churches in the area, which house authentic artistic treasures (we are at your disposal to provide further details and explanations).

As for entertainment, pubs, breweries, and bars are easily accessible.

If you are interested in local traditions, we recommend participating in religious festivities (such as the "Giunta" during Easter), villa evenings, traditional processions accompanied by a marching band, and admiring the Matrice Staircase decorated with flowers in the month of May and illuminated during the summer.
