Description
The idea of opening a bed and breakfast came mainly from our wish to share with passers-by, tourists and travellers certain values that we hold dear and that mark our way of relating to our home and the surrounding area
In part, these values are the fruit of customs that our families have handed down to us, and in part they follow naturally from habits we’ve developed “beyond traditions”, caring about sustainability and simplicity in our daily life. Perhaps we’ve lost sight of these values, but in the past few years we’ve seen how attractive they are, especially to people from big cities or those with a hectic lifestyle.
So, along with hospitality and “caffè e latte”, we want to pass on our enthusiasm for the natural and cultural resources of our area and share our lifestyle with you – because we believe it’s an acceptable compromise between simplicity, “practical ecology” and wellbeing.
So if you’d like to taste jam, home-made with the thousands of different kinds of cherries from Pecetto, bread made with flour from the mills of Chieri and vegetables, herbs and fruit from our allotment – this is the place to come!
And since we do our best to minimise the impact of our house on the environment, wasting as little as possible – food, water and electricity – we’ll ask you to be careful to separate your waste for recycling, and to accept that we’ve chosen not to put air conditioners in the rooms. We also use a wood-burning heater for water and to keep you warm in the colder months
Then we can tell you about a few places that only the real “Pecettesi” know about, and we’ll do our best to have our magnificent Church of St Sebastian opened for you.
We’ll do all we can to persuade you to explore the woodland paths in and around Pecetto, on foot or bicycle - we can lend you a bike if necessary, or snow shoes, or a cagoule, or a dog to keep you company, when you decide to go walking on the hill.
And believe us, we’ll keep our word! – we’ve already done all this with our guests: with Mike, with Geraldo, with Catia, Paola and Lorenzo, with Inca and Gianluca, with Isabelle, Maria, David, Julio, Hannah and Kathi.
We will be home to welcome you and share loads of fine secrets about Pecetto and the surroundings.
