points of interest in Montecchio Maggiore
Civic Museum G. Zannato
The Museum, which acts as centre of the Agno-Chiampo Network, displays an interesting selection of the archaeology and natural history of the area.
In the archaeological section we find exhibits from the neolitic, bronze and iron ages (including ancient Venetians and Celts) as well as from the Roman and Lombard periods.
The natural history section displays minerals and gems of the Vicenza territory, a rich collection of fossil crustaceans and other paleontological findings, including the “fossil forest” of Castelgomberto.
The Museum has a remarkable production of scientific research and a lively educational activity.
