The entire territory is part of the charming Cilento, Vallo di Diano, and Alburni National Park, while its coast is protected in the Santa Maria di Castellabate marine area. The distance from the town center is about 2.75 km, from Agropoli 13 km, and from Salerno about 68 km.
Thanks to its geographical position on the Tyrrhenian coast, this area enjoys a Mediterranean climate with hot summers, mild winters, and many sunny days. The average temperatures in the coldest month, January, range from a minimum of 4 °C to a maximum of 12 °C, while in July and August they range between 18 °C and 29 °C. The temperate climate is favored by the protection of the Campanian Apennines, which shield the area from cold winds in winter. Precipitation is scarce during the summer months, reaching its peak in December when it rains on average one day every two days.
The nearest weather station is Casal Velino. According to the 30-year reference average from 1961-1990, the average temperature in the coldest month, January, is +8.7 °C, while in the hottest month, August, it is +25.7 °C.
Attractions to visit:
- Church of Sant'Antonio da Padova: a charming single-nave church built in 1925.
- Church of the Santissima Immacolata: a modern church with a four-story bell tower and numerous stained glass windows, located in Piazza Madre Teresa di Calcutta.
- Coast and marine area: the splendid Tyrrhenian coast is accompanied by a long sandy beach known as "spiaggia del Lago" or "ù Sciome" by the locals. This coastal area is part of the Santa Maria di Castellabate protected marine area.
- Cava dei rocchi: the sandy beach of Lago covers a quarry dating back to the 6th century BC, discovered in 2010. Here, the Trezeni Greeks extracted the rocchi, cylindrical blocks of sandstone used to build the majestic temples of Paestum.
- Belvedere dei Trezeni: a panoramic terrace located at the foot of Monte Tresino, from which you can admire the entire coast of Castellabate and Punta Pagliarola, which closes the gulf with its splendid cliffs.
- Artificial lake with waterfall: an enchanting artificial lake created in Piazza Madre Teresa di Calcutta.
- Park and natural trails: the entire territory is part of the Cilento, Vallo di Diano, and Alburni National Park and offers various green areas and natural trails, also equipped as botanical routes. The main natural trails are those leading to "Lago, Tresino, San Pietro" for 9.1 km (via an internal road) and "Lago, Tresino, Trentova di Agropoli" (via the sea).
