3.4.2 - The Structure Description

The house

“Villa Teresa” is a big white house surrounded by lush vegetation, beautiful landscapes, and breathtaking fields of sunflowers. When approaching from the front, guests can immediately tell it is the perfect place to relax and take some rest. The house seen from the outside is very pretty and its structure respects the normative of the Ravenna municipality.

The shape of the basement is rectangular, and the building is made up of 2 floors that measure almost 280 m2 in total. Of the 3 bedrooms for the guests, two are on the first floor and one on the ground floor, each one with its private bathroom. On the ground floor there is also:

  • The owner’s bedroom
  • The owner’s bathroom
  • A kitchen of 20 m2
  • Two living rooms of, respectively, 23 m2 and 62 m2 –Two covered porches
  • Two garages

The overall structure has recently been completely renovated following bio- architecture principles, meaning in an ecologically-friendly manner. The heating, air conditioning, and electricity systems are in accordance with standards. Moreover, the house is equipped with double glazed windows, solar panels, and emergency lights, important to ensure a safe stay.

The rooms

“Villa Teresa” disposes of a total of 3 renovated, spacious, and fully equipped rooms. They will not be classified in a number sequence because we though it would be too impersonal, so every room will be named after a type of flower. Rooms are decorated with wooden furniture, both in bedroom and bathroom. Walls are white. All beds are comfortable thanks to the high quality mattresses (memory foam). Every room has its own equipped bathroom with hairdryer, towels, and courtesy line (hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, and shower cap).

Room 1: Rosa

Located on the first floor of the house (which offers a splendid view over the garden and from where guests can enjoy the wonderful summer sunset over the vineyards) the room “Rosa” (23 m2) can normally accommodate two people in a double bed or, on previous request, in single beds. With the adjacent room Margherita, it can be the ideal solution for the stay of a family of 4/5 people (2 adults plus the children).
Furnished in rustic, shabby chic style, it is equipped with a bed, a closet with safe box for personal belongings, a big table, 2 chairs, a mirror, a mini fridge, a TV, air conditioner/heating, and all modern comforts. The color that prevails, as in the rest of the house, is white, with pastel red details. The room has a private bathroom with shower, tub, toilet, bidet, and washbasin with mirror. The wood sign on the door says “Rosa” and shows a red rose hand-painted with watercolors.

Room 2: Margherita

Located on the first floor of the house as well (and offering the same splendid view over the garden) the room “Margherita” is a little smaller than “Rosa”, precisely it measures 21 m2. It can normally accommodate two people in a double bed or, on request, in single beds. With the adjacent room Rosa, it can be the ideal solution for the stay of a family of 4/5 people (2 adults + children).

The color that prevails, as in the rest of the house, is white, with pastel yellow details. The room has a private bathroom equipped with shower, tub, toilet, bidet, and washbasin with mirror. The wood sign on the door says “Margherita” and shows a daisy hand-painted with watercolors.

Room 3: Girasole

Located on the ground floor of the house, the room “Girasole” is the biggest of the three with its 25 m2. It can normally accommodate two people in a double bed or, on request, in single beds, with the possibility of adding one extra bed. Hence, it represents the ideal solution for the stay of a couple, of a family with just one child, or of a group of maximum three people.

The color that prevails, as in the rest of the house, is white, with pastel orange details. This room, as the other two upstairs, also has a private bathroom equipped with shower, tub, toilet, bidet, and washbasin with mirror. The wood sign on the door says “Girasole” and shows a sunflower hand-painted with watercolors.

The garden

The garden measures 10.000 m2 and it is full of lovely plants and trees. There is a space where we grow all sorts of culinary herbs; there are 5 different types of fruit trees (apple trees, apricot trees, cherry trees, peach trees, pear trees); there are flowers like Amaryllis, Calla, Daffodil, Freesia, Gardenia, Gerbera, Gladiolus, Iris, Peony, and many more. We decided to pick white as predominant color in the flowers, so that the garden will give a sense of pureness and have a sophisticated look.

There are two dreamy porches (one in front of the house, the other on the side) that will make everybody fall in love. One has a rocking chair, the other a hanging basket chair. Besides, since we have always had dogs, there is a big dog yard with 2 wooden doghouses inside (with the possibility of placing a metal net that separates them). In order to satisfy the needs of all the people who travel with their dogs, we welcome all sorts of breeds and sizes.

A distinctive part of the garden is the tennis/volleyball/basketball court, where I have always played with my friends and where the kids will have a lot of fun. Last but not least, in the part of the garden behind the house there will be a swimming pool with an inflatable unicorn inside and a couple of inflatable pool air mattresses (single and double). On the four sides of the pool, we will dispose some sun loungers with cushions. For the kids, we provide goggles and armrests.
As for the garden decorations, we will place an old-fashioned metal plow next to the main porch, with three or four barrels and some burlap decorations. There will be a rope hammock with wooden stand and a couple of garden floor cushions. Along the driveway, we will place recycled wine bottle lanterns that we will light up at night.
