THE TERRITORY
The Parmesan Apennines are rich in historical, natural, and gastronomic attractions.
From Villa Alda, you can reach the castle of Torrechiara, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, in just a few minutes. Perched on a hill, overlooking the entire valley, the castle has been the setting for famous films such as Ladyhawke and Condottieri. Inside, it preserves Medieval and Renaissance elements of artistic and historical interest.
Castles are not the only attraction in the area... Langhirano is very close to the Parco dei Cento Laghi (Park of the Hundred Lakes), where you can enjoy beautiful excursions both in summer and winter.
But let's not forget about your palate! The true protagonist of your stay. In this area, you can find the best specialties of our region: Parma Ham, Felino Salami, Coppa di Parma, and Parmigiano Reggiano. You can also visit wineries and taste the typical wines of these places: the delicious and sparkling Malvasia, Lambrusco, and Fortana.
Villa Alda is only a few kilometers away from Parma, and when you want, you can go down to the city to visit churches, squares, museums, theaters, or spend an evening in the historic center, sitting at the table of a delightful Parmesan trattoria.
