In the hinterland of Puglia, in the "Serra del Porco" area, centrally located between Martina Franca, Alberobello, Noci, Massafra and Mottola, at an altitude of approximately 530 m, you will find "La casa degli uccellini", a farmhouse dating back to the 1800s.
The landscape context is typical of the wooded Murgia, with scattered ancient farmhouses and alternating cultivated fields, pastures and forests. Majestic fragno oaks and some holm oaks dominate the forests, along with a variety of Mediterranean shrubs, including lentisks, cysts, junipers and perastri, which provide vibrant colors in spring and warmer hues in autumn.
All the rooms of the farmhouse are arranged in a line, including the old farmhouse and the service areas, including a wood-burning oven.
The farmhouse has been renovated with excellent conservation taste, maintaining a connection between modern building technologies, history and local culture.
The redevelopment of all the spaces, trulli and lamie, has been carried out using restored or reused local materials, such as stone and lime plaster.
The interior furnishings reflect the ancient rustic art, essential and enriched by the creative recycling of peasant tools; the many niches carved into the thickness of the walls serve as cupboards, just as they did in the past.
Finally, the precious collection of rainwater in the large cistern and the use of alternative energies ensure a stay in an authentic Ecological House.
