I booked this apartment for my son and two of his friends in Livorno for study reasons. I had to send five emails to the host asking for confirmation of the apartment's amenities and check-in procedures in the days leading up to the stay. He never responded. Out of desperation, I called him the day before departure, and he replied that he responded to emails and messages, but not to phone calls and that he would read the email, which was completely ignored. In the end, my son managed (on the day of departure, with bags already packed) to talk to him and agree on the check-in. The boys arrived on site and found a dirty kitchen. In the bathroom, there was a bad smell coming from the drain, and the refrigerator, dishwasher, and television were not working. Having to stay several days, the situation was very heavy. I immediately called the host, who this time responded promptly and sent the cleaning lady again (in the meantime, a good amount of time was wasted). In the late evening, he provided a camping refrigerator, but for three boys for five days, having a small refrigerator is clearly not an acceptable situation. In my opinion, a host has the responsibility to know and inform guests about any malfunctions in advance. It is not possible for the refrigerator, drains, dishwasher, and TV to all break down at the same time. We requested at least a partial refund since we did not benefit from the amenities described in the advertisement and for which we paid a not insignificant price; the request was denied. Without having clear instructions or providing a receipt, the boys did not pay the tourist tax. My son correctly asked for the details for a transfer via bank transfer, and once again, the host was unresponsive. Honestly, asking for 750 euros for such a situation is embarrassing. The host is definitely inadequate. I do not recommend this place!
