The main purpose of our trip was to visit Castel del Monte and we were looking for accommodation in the countryside that was as authentic as possible.
We found it beyond our best expectations.
The building is a rural building from the past that retains the charm of the times when it was an integral part of a large farmhouse.
The atmosphere you breathe is that of country life, with its own rhythms, its own taste, and its own logic, so far from the inevitably artificial and commercialized ones of the cities.
And it is thanks to the hospitality and familiarity with which we were welcomed by the owners Giuseppe and Cristina that we were able to perceive all this even in a short stay of 2 days like ours.
The food is excellent, simple, and traditional, but impeccable in taste and lightness (despite variety and abundance).
Finally, the breakfast was memorable: garden fruit (exceptional in taste and sweetness), small tarts with jam and fresh fruit, a spectacular ricotta, fried zucchini flowers stuffed with ricotta (even for me, fried food for breakfast left me a bit perplexed, but after the first taste, the only concern was that they would end too soon), warm walnut bread rolls, and, last but not least, the Bari-style focaccia (with cherry tomatoes and oregano for those who don't know it) that fills the house with a scent that alone makes anyone who knows how to appreciate all this understand that they are in the right place.
